Our curly hair experience together is a partnership, so please review the How to Prepare guidelines & Salon Policies to make the most of our time together.

How to prepare:
Please wash & style your curls at least 1 day before, or on the day of your appointment using with the styling products you usually use.
Your curls must be clean, detangled & dry by your appointment time.
If you are not sure what to do - Just wash, condition & let your hair air dry.
Please have your curls loose - No clips, combs or barrettes that would alter your curl pattern, unless you ALWAYS wear them in your hair.
No buns, ponytails, braids, hats. No thick hoodies or turtlenecks that bulk around the neck area since they interfere with the cut & get wet during styling.
For your session:
I like to take before/after photos & I may record parts of our session together if you want to keep that in mind with clothing/makeup you may choose to wear to the appointment.
I’m also interested in your vibe in general as it helps me to visualize a haircut that might best suit you & your style. You are welcome to bring any inspo photos of curly styles you love.

My studio is within Sola Salons in the Hawthorne Crossings shopping center.

Maps may put you nearer to the Ross & Mitsuwa. I am inside Sola Salons, which is LEFT of Trek Bicycles at the OPPOSITE END of the shopping center AWAY from Ross & Mitsuwa. We have LOTS of parking but please allow yourself enough time to arrive as well as find a space to your liking since the spaces are typical Convoy area size which means they are narrow. Wider/larger spaces are near Starbucks.
Come into the lobby of Sola Salons & go towards the LEFT. I'm in Suite #23.
If you are 10 minutes or more early, please use the restroom &/or have a seat outside of my studio - then come in at your appointment time. Even if I am not with another client, I may be checking messages or just taking a little break between clients.
**I have limited capacity in my suite so please do not bring the children or additional guests to your service unless you need physical assistance. Children having services done may be accompanied by one adult.
Late Arrivals:
A 15 minute grace period is granted for arrivals. Please contact me directly through the Square Go app or Text/Voicemail (833) 214-8466 to let me know if you are running late.
Arriving later than your appointment time may require a modification of your session such as shortened styling/drying times or you may need to leave wet. The service will still be charged as originally booked. More than 15 minutes could result in a cancellation/reschedule & fees will apply.
Your time is valuable to me & I do my best to stay on schedule. Curls come in all lengths & densities & can be unpredictable at times. I will text you if I am running late with approximate timing. You will still receive your full service time with me.
Communication:
Please opt in to receive messages through Email &/or Text to receive all Reminders or Waitlist notifications.
You will receive a Confirmation when the appointment is accepted & then two Reminders: They are sent 6 days & 3 days (36 hours) before your appointment time.
Please look at your reminders & double check the date to your personal calendar.
Reminders are a courtesy only. If you have opted out of receiving messages or do not receive the messages for any other reason, the cancellation/rescheduling policy still stands. Forgotten/Missed appointments will be charged the cancellation fee.
DO NOT respond to automated emails to cancel/reschedule. Your emails will not be received.

Cancellation Policy:
In my private studio, I provide a unique & personal experience that has been scheduled in advance, solely for you. I don’t double book or stagger clients so that you have my complete attention exclusively for your curly session.
If you want to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please do so BEFORE your appointment time within the parameters of the 48 hour cancellation/reschedule policy.
If possible, more notice is appreciated so that the time may be offered to any clients on the waitlist.
The cancellation/reschedule policy is 48 hours.
Appointments cancelled/rescheduled less then 48 hours, as well as forgotten, missed & no shows are charged 50% of the service cost.

While it is understandable that life happens & emergencies are unavoidable, the policy is designed to partially compensate me when I am left without a client for the time reserved in my calendar. The fees are not rolled over for rescheduling.
Service:
During our consultation, we will discuss length, shape, styling, as well as realistic expectations for your curls. I will check in with you periodically during our session together so that we are still on the same page. Before ending your session, I’ll check in again & execute any final adjustments to ensure that you are happy with your results.
As curlies, we know that no two wash days are ever the same & everyone styles a little differently. If an adjustment is needed, please reach out within one week from your original appointment & let me know if something is not sitting the same as the original mutually agreed upon vision.
Significant change in length or shape beyond the original consultation will require another appointment.
All services are final sale.
Payments:
Payment is due at time of service. I accept Cash, Zelle, Venmo, Credit Cards & Contactless Payment such as Apple Pay.
Please bring your credit card to the appointment unless your phone has Contactless Payment. The card you entered online when you booked, is to hold your appointment time only & it is not charged in advance.

What’s the parking like?
There is a free parking lot with plenty of spaces, however, please allow yourself some extra time to navigate our busy shopping center.
What is a Curly Cut & how is it different from a Regular Cut?
A curly cut uses cutting techniques where I cut the hair in its natural state on dry defined curls.
I suggest this type of cut if you wear your hair in its natural state most of the time. This allows me to see the curls so I can take into account the different textures/shrink factors on the head and customize a shape best for you. I have been trained in a variety of curly cutting methods & am passionate about always learning more about curls through continuing education!
Do you have a Waitlist?
Yes, the waitlist is available through the online booking system. The system will automatically notify you if an opening becomes available that matches your appointment request. The open appointment will be available to book online on a first come first serve basis.
I would suggest booking the first available appointment time that works with your schedule. You can add yourself to the waitlist as well & you will be contacted when/if something sooner comes up. You can have both an appointment & be on the waitlist.
Unless you require absolute specific times/dates, please choose Any Time & Any Date on the waitlist request.

How do I cancel or reschedule?

The system won’t let me cancel or reschedule.
You are past the 48 hour cancellation/reschedule window. The system will not let you cancel/reschedule past this time & fess will apply.
What hours do you work?
My salon hours are Wed- Fri from 11am - 6pm, Saturday from 11am - 5pm.
My business/messaging hours are the same as above. I’m not always available outside of those hours. Please allow time for me to respond to your voicemail or text.
Do you offer color or perms?
No. I do not offer any chemical services.
You can schedule a cut, styling, curly tutorial or scalp treatments.
Do you work with clients transitioning from a relaxer, keratin treatment, chemical, color or heat damaged hair?
Absolutely! But please remember, it’s not called a Curl Journey for nothing.
This is a partnership: I will use my best efforts to revitalize your curls & you are encouraged to keep realistic expectations based on the current state of your hair. Keep in mind that it can take multiple appointments & haircuts to get you to your goals as well as a commitment to curly styling & products that nuture your hair.
How do I book an appointment?

My schedule is open up a continual 60 days in advance. Every day, a new day, 60 days out, is available. If you don’t see availability, then all open times have been filled. Please add yourself to the Waitlist & the system will contact you if a time becomes available. The best thing to do is make an appointment & add yourself to the waitlist as well.
